Our mission is to engage in historical study relating to Hardwick, individuals and families identified with its early history. To establish and maintain a Historical Museum, to collect, hold, preserve and exhibit items, letters, photos, papers and other historical objects of interest and documents for the people and friends of Hardwick and surrounding towns.
The Hardwick Historical Society is
a private, all-volunteer, non-profit 501©(3) charity organization.
Except for a few small grants for specific programs, we do not receive any town, state or federal funds for our operation. While monetary donations are always welcome, gifts of items of historical value that pertain to the history of Hardwick, Gilbertville, Wheelwright, Old Furnace or of the Quabbin Reservoirs Lost Towns are very much appreciated.
We rely solely on donations and small fundraising activities to support our operation. Remember that all gifts and contributions are tax-deductible.

We would like to thank all our current Historical Society members for their generous support over the years. We rely on your tax-deductible donations to help support our programming and to keep the museum open and operational for generations to come. Please keep in mind that if you are a Life Member that those funds have little to no value left to them. If you would like to make an additional donation in any amount that feels right, please see our contact information or it can be done through PayPal. We cannot preserve our history and keep the doors open without your help and generosity.
Thank you.
