Attic Renovations Update

The Hardwick Historical Society is in the final stages of the attic work to make our storage area complete. However, the carpenters discovered the cupola has big issues… it moves! Window sills and frames were not attached and are very rotten so they will need to be replaced right a way. The siding on the lower section will also need to be replaced along with an opening/closing device installed to maintain proper ventilation. We will also need a thermostatic controller for an exhaust fan be installed as it gets very hot in the summer. To complete the renovations, the storage area side walls will be finished so we will finally have needed shelving.

This cost of this work goes beyond our original donation from Beth Gardner by $25,000. We are a 501c3 charity which is a non-profit organization. Any and all donations will be graciously accepted and very much appreciated. The carpenters are back to get this very important work done before winter so we can continue on adding our donated artifacts to a more organized storage area.
